PASI - the Psoriasis Area Severity Index - is the clinical standard scoring system for measuring the severity and extent of Psoriasis on a patient's body. However PASI is a complex and time consuming method that is not practical for use in a clinical scenario.

With this in mind, Astron Clinica has developed Psoriasis Manager bringing the power of SIAscopy to Psoriasis treatment, removing the need for subjective interpretation of a patient's condition, and providing a powerful tool in the management of psoriasis.

Psoriasis Manager guides the user to capture images of the affected area with an intuitive point-and-click interface taking SIAscans using a 22 point body map, and then aiding the identification of an area of interest in each SIAscan. This easy to use interface makes it ideal for use in nurse-led triage, maximising the time the specialist has available to spend with the patient.

Using our patented technology, SIAscopy, that enables us to build haemoglobin maps from up to 2 mm underneath the skin, Psoriasis Manager brings a new scoring system to aid in the temporal assessment of Psoriasis. Psoriasis Manager automatically calculates both the extent and severity of the condition and generates the SIA score for each patient which correlates with an expert consultant dermatologist's opinion.

Psoriasis Manager allows the user to locate, scan, analyse and store information about affected areas of the skin, annotating SIAscans for future reference. When a patient returns for a check-up, Psoriasis Manager re-calculates the SIA score, and provides quantitative information on the improvement or otherwise of the condition since the patients last visit, or over a longer period of time, summarising this information in a graphical format. For those who still prefer visual inspection, Psoriasis Manager enables the specialist to view individual images.

Every medical practitioner has their preferred treatments for Psoriasis, so in order to support this requirement Psoriasis Manager is customisable, enabling the specialist to create a menu of treatment options which in turn reduces the amount of time required to annotate patient notes. Psoriasis Manager is fully integrated with all other products in the DERMETRICS product line and shares a consistent user interface for ease of use.
