The Digital Camera system supported by Astron Clinica facilitates the capture of non-contact SIAscans. Non-contact SIAscopy can be used for imaging melanin and is particularly useful for imaging haemoglobin, which disperses if excessive pressure is applied directly to the skin.

The Digital Camera system consists of the latest Canon Digital SLR Camera, the EOS 350D, a Canon Macro Ring Lite Flash and Astron Clinica's proprietary polarising filter.

The Canon EOS 350D boasts an impressive 8 Mega pixel image resolution and can be supplied with a wide range of professional lens attachments. Skin specialists can use wide-angle lenses for full body imaging or quickly change lens for high quality macro imaging.

The versatile Macro Ring Lite Flash provides optimal illumination for everything from close-ups to half-body photos. Each flash is carefully calibrated by Astron Clinica to ensure high quality non-contact SIAscopy.

Astron Clinica's unique Cross-Polarising Filter completes the package. A quick release mechanism makes it easy to remove the polariser to enable regular digital photography.

The digital camera package is fully integrated with DERMETRICS for a wide range of non-contact SIAscopy applications. When integrated with DERMETRICS, the image capture functions may be controlled from within the software, and with a high speed USB2.0 interface the acquisition of non-contact SIAscans is quicker and easier than ever.

Post-image overlay functions make updating patient records easy. Automatic camera configuration by DERMETRICS makes it easy to capture high quality, non-contact SIAscans without the need for time-consuming manual adjustments. When used together the SIAscope V and Digital Camera harness the full potential of both contact and non-contact SIAscopy, providing all the tools required for state-of-the-art skin visualisation.
